My body doesn't like June anymore and it barely tolerates the first half of July when my brain turns to muck with my body not far behind.
It used to really enjoy June and those fun bouts of playing outside in the first tastes of warmth. Now, my whole being merely searches for a resipiscent existance.
Go ahead. Look it up. We'll wait.
So, when the opportunity presents now in July to rev back up for the late summer and autumn trail running, my brain is set loose even though my body lags far behind.
So goes it this past weekend on my second run since
Muscle damage and repair took a good 2 weeks after that race. By then, the real world called and time spent enjoying the sun were at a premium.
So, now with People's
So, Shenipsit called for me on Sunday with a solo run and I struggled through the first 2 miles. The beauty of this spot of earth with the spectacular weather eventually caused my mind to relax, my soul to rest and my lungs / legs to catch back up with my brain.
Today presented a bit brighter, a bit more tolerable and a lot less stressful.
